Davis 2nd day
Brief Summary:
Run. Farmer’s Market. Arbo. Nerf Gun. Tag. Card Game 13. Loft.
Woke up. Went on a jog at 7. Dude, the pedestrian light didn’t switch on on my way back so I waited 8 minutes there. Lol.
Had breakfast at 9 (apparently that’s when the segundo dining hall opened at on summer saturdays).
Walked around with Louis, Trang, and Kai-wei. First went to the Farmer’s Market though. It wasn’t that impressive. It had probably the same amount of stuff as Fremont’s would. The prices were more expensive though, but the food looked fresher. There seemed to be a lot of strawberries. Tried to go the arbitrarium but ended on the street instead of the actual park area.
Came back and met up with Jason and Laura. Met up with my actual room mate Savuth. He’s pretty chill. Went to walmart while the rest of us had lunch/dinner together at the segundo DC at 5sh.
Saw Steph finally when we came back at 6sh. Just a brief hi and then went on. Took a nap until 7 then dropped by the main lounge. Played a icebreaker/mixer game to meet people in the building. I have forgotten most of their names though which is a bummer.
Played tag though, which was fun. I realize I’m not really fast, but I’m agile and quick. I can air dodge =P.
Steph came over at 10sh. Brought over her room mate. My room mate’s school mate came over, Eline (sorry for misspell). Played 13.
Steph then asked us to help put up a bar for her bed since she lofted it.
That’s pretty much my day in a nutshell. Wish I had a camera. Missing you a bunch cathy. Rawr. Can’t wait to get back >.<;

School
In truth, the last thirteen years of my life formal education have been squandered. It is true that there is a necessity for general education requirements, even if one has set their purpose in life already. These requirements give opportunity to those that may never have realized their potential. They open new opportunities, shed new light, and give individuals various outlooks.
Memorizing fundamental truths are important. Who was president in 1860? Is this a trivial question? How about this: Should we deny the right for a certain group of individuals rights? Disregarding bits of history, we would not conclude on the answer. We wouldn’t directly relate the question to segregation, the Jim Crow laws, or a war that split a country. Unless the material taken in can be applied in various ways, it is frivolous. Application is key to understanding the importance of information.
No matter the subject or field, all bits of information are building blocks. Whether they are as easy to identify as the alphabet is a different matter. The quality of the classroom environment, matched with the skill of the teachers and the subjects material, have hindered students to see ideas as building components for larger notions. Is studying alone so much better than group interaction? No. Information intake is a deep process that requires interaction between the person and the material. One cannot soak in information and be expected to acquire it’s importance. One needs to be able to see the connections.
The public school system in America is atrocious. Most teachers are not prepared to properly teach the material. They may have lecture plans and activities, but if it doesn’t give personal attachment to the students it doesn’t matter. A teacher may force their students to remember the periodic table, but what good is it? Grades are superficial and show only the ability to memorize information. True, there are classes that go beyond the curriculum and push students to explore on their own, but they are the exceptions to this system. For the majority, classes and the material are trivial. No connections are made. Time is wasted. The building blocks are concluded as finished products. Innovation is lost.

A lot of walking o.o and Bakuman
Yesterday I went out for a walk. Just went from my house to mission’s bus stop. Then considered taking the bus but didn’t feel like it. Walked back home. Got close to home and then decided to walk to Safeway. Then I walked to Target in the hub. Lots of walking indeed. o.O
And I’ve started to read Bakuman, and am almost caught up to where the series is at o.o

1 More down the Drain
Finished Ai Yori Aoshi. It reminded me of Love Hina. Except the fact that the guy is a “tenant.”
And Supernatural Season Premiere. Sad ending. Dean has doesn’t trust his brother. Oh noooo.

Learned some guitar
Major chords, yay. Now if only if my guitar was tuned ><
I suck at this music crap. Being tone deaf sucks. Truly.
Wow, I haven’t left my house since this weekend. That’s pretty sad.

End of Summer
Seriously, haven’t done anything.
Play games, games, and more games.
Random animes. Like, really random.
Random brainstorming… Wind-turbine enhancement? Recoilless handgun? Motorless flight? Ionized water to cause movement?
