The number of days remaining in summer dwindle to a handful. I have to admit that I had a lot of fun this summer, more so than in previous summers. I did not spend as much time on playing video games or watching movies, which is a good thing. I explored San Francisco, earned an okay amount for my college tuition, spent a lot of time with Cathy, and finally got my driver’s license.

Of course there were quite a few miscellaneous things such as going to Berkeley and the Caltopia event. Attending a FNM event and winning against 2 players (had a bye the first round so “won” all 3 rounds). Going up to Davis for an interview and having sushi buffet.

What I will regret not doing in the near future that I should have done this summer is to have spent more time on simple math and doing more programming. But as a whole, I enjoyed my summer.

Dota Renew: 4-man team lineups

The team line-up I have is for siege, hero killing, and area of effect. The support will have map control. Each of the laners have substitutes incase the person playing that lane cannot play that hero specifically or if that hero is chosen. I chose 2 strong laners (CARRY & SUPPORT) and 1 mediocre laner (DISABLER).

Key things:

Soulrender (50%) + Cota (34%) damage buff to CARRY

SUPPORT carries 3 auras

Titan of the Order OR Earthshaker disable

Troll – anti-carry (blind will make it hard for someone to last hit properly thus depleting their gold supply)

If mesmerizer substituted, is good against a team with a single carry by making him target allies and also good for anti-summons.

Let the CARRY get last hits on heroes if possible.

DISABLER might need to get Scepter of Avatars in order to cast properly (i.e. earthshaker’s earthquake to not be cancelled by a stun).

I do not mention a build for the Creeper because it really depends on what the other team has and what your team needs.

Sad Weekend

Cathy’s dad passed away. I wish there I could say that it would be better but I know that it will be hard. I wish there was something I could say to make it better. I wish there was something I could do.

I did not work on Saturday, spent the day at the hospital with Cathy and her family plus a few others. However, I did went to work on Sunday though. I forgot to charge the Zune so I did not have music.

Waiting on feedback from a couple of clients. I am kind of glad that I am not that busy right now.

I need to look up SEO tools.

I need a new camera. I am looking for a camera that is under $150, has mp of at least 10 (I might settle for less). I want an ISO of up to 1600 or greater. Around 1000 at least. I want a higher shutter speed and adjustable aperature settings. I also want it to run on lithium batteries, the ones that can recharge. I want it to use memory sticks rather than internal memory (why would a camera be promoted with a “1 gig internal memory”). I want it to have at least 4x optical zoom. The more optical zoom the better! I am pretty sure I would not end up using anything greater than 10x though, so 20x might just be too crazy.

I wish there were cheap disposable digital cameras. That would be nice. Just buy it on occasion, use the allotted photos (delete them and retake them if required). I don’t trust my ability to use a film camera so I don’t think I would want to use disposable film unless I have to. Certain circumstances in which I would use a film camera as opposed to a digital are when I want a really large photo of a relatively small picture (yay for film being vectored and thus totally resizable to any size. The crudeness of the digital age.) or if I don’t trust the place/event as a camera-safe place (a water park).

It fits most of my specifications and is only $70, surprisingly. It runs on double A though, which is a downer. But I can deal with that.

But it’s a little bit out of my ideal range. Sigh.

I am at McDonald, the one near New Park Mall, right now. It has a nice playground thing. I wish I was a kid, I would totally be all over it right now. I am using their internet so I guess I should order something from them. Their breakfast menu ends at 10:30 so I’ve been waiting. I don’t want to order off of that menu. I just want a cheeseburger or something along those lines.

A week of summer

Another week of summer has gone and passed me by.
Nothing too exciting or renewing, oh dear my.
I was sick for the week, but at least I did not die.
All I did this week was take the AFOQT,
played The Sims 3 and hung out with Alex and Cathy.

I liked this week’s chapter of Bakuman (91). I did not expect the ending page to turn out like that.
Watched The Usual Suspects last night. It was pretty intense and good. The acting was great and so was the plot.
